CELEBRATING THE WORLD BOOK DAY AT GOVERNMENT SECONDARY SCHOOL OYIGBO

Keeping it Real (KIR) Foundation donated one hundred academic books to Government Secondary School, Oyigbo in Rivers State in celebration of the World Book Day #WBD 2017. The Government Secondary School Oyigbo has a student population of over one thousand students.

At the book presentation ceremony, Mr. Eli, the Principal of the school received the KIR Foundation team on behalf of the school. He said that the school currently has no library and thanked KIR Foundation for recognizing the need for books in the school and donating the books. KIR Foundation will set up a reading corner in the school to encourage a culture of reading.

The objective of the Book Drive project is to bridge the educational gap in our community schools by donating books to people who do not have access to them.
This project would not have been possible without the support of Mr. Tekena Dagogo, a teacher at the school who heard the KIR Foundation team on radio during the World Book Day 2016 program and contacted us.
